“A Feast of Consequences” update

6 September 2013

We have been receiving e mails at sales@fish-thecompany.com asking “where is the album I ordered?”

The deluxe version of “A Feast of Consequences” will not be in the post until the 25th of September, the date given to me by the manufacturing firm MPO. I have already posted in detail about the problems which are totally out of our hands but in short the Czech printers who are responsible for the 100 page hard back book and the slipcase have badly let me down. They should have been here at the beginning of this week. No matter how much I shout or scream it will not come any earlier and I am definitely more upset about this than anyone else.

The FLAC codes were sent as a goodwill gesture and to allow people to at least hear the album. I know some of you have had problems downloading and John Reid, my IT consultant has been doing an incredible job advising people with problems and sorting out tech issues the last week to make it easier for some of you who are not versed in downloading and retrieving files to play.

We chose the FLAC code because it’s a top quality file size. It is also the code people would be getting with the deluxe versions and would have been stickered on the case when you got it. John set up a programme to send them now and identified glitches in the software which he has been ironing out and in doing so has made the overall system smoother and identified some order problems that wouldn’t have been seen until the actual post out.

The FLAC file can be resized to MP3 . It doesn’t work the other way around. The FLAC code can be manipulated to other forms to listen to. I appreciate as a technophobe myself that it takes some thinking out but there have been some really helpful people on the FB pages and on the Forum who have been giving advice on how to convert and play the FLAC files.

If you have issues with the e mail you received, have ordered a deluxe version but haven’t received an e mail  or can’t find the codes then please contact  John Reid <feastprobs@fishheadsclub.com>

Please do not e mail the shop. John is the only person who can provide support regarding the codes and your e mails.Information on what to do with FLAC files is readily available on the internet and on the timeline of the facebook page from friendly fans.

Please do not send e mails asking when your deluxe album will arrive. The album will be sent out when it arrives here hopefully on the 25th. It is out of my hands and you have my promise that it will be sent out immediately it arrives here. We have already contacted people who will be helping and it should take less than a week to clear the complete orders as we have all the envelopes and packages already made up and waiting.

Any further information we receive from MPO re delivery times will be posted immediately on the fishheadsclub.com web site and on social media. Please subscribe to the news section and you will get an e mail sent directly to your inbox with any developments.

Elspeth is away until next Thursday and no one will be answering e mails apart from John Reid regarding the problems I have already mentioned.

The vast majority of you who have ordered the deluxe version have understood and sympathised with our plight here and have shown tremendous patience. To the very small minority who have sent in complaints after the FLACs were sent out about not receiving your albums I can only again apologise but I will say that the tone of a handful of mails have not been appreciated and don’t help matters. We are doing our very best in a bad situation that is not of our making and out of our control. It was impossible to foresee this delay and we relied on the assertions of the manufacturers that all would be delivered on time as agreed in May this year. No matter how many angry calls I make to MPO  or e mails you send here it won’t come any faster to either of us.

You may not have the deluxe box set in your hands, a CD to listen to and a DVD to watch but I have lost my main promotional tool and my principal sales item until nearly halfway through my main European tour and my promotion costs are heavy and mounting just now with my income to support all that reduced to a trickle.

The Deluxe edition of “A Feast of Consequences” will go back on sale on Saturday the 14th but will have a notice attached that it will not be available and in stock until the 25th September. A FLAC code will be sent when the order is paid for on the site but the deluxe album will not be sent out until it arrives here at the end of the month..

The FLAC codes and MP3 codes will be on sale on the 14th as will the standard jewel case with the 20 page booklet. The CD will be sold on the merch stall on the tour and when I finally get the deluxe versions they too will be sold at the gigs.

It is intensely frustrating just now but I am trying to make the most out of the situation. The FLACS were sent out as a goodwill gesture to people who were desperate to hear the album. It seems most of you appreciated that and I am over the moon at the responses and reviews of the album! 🙂

From talking with John this morning it appears the worst is over and he is dealing with your problems as I type this. One thing is that in this process it has ironed out some issues that would have meant some of you not receiving albums from orders that had been misplaced that surfaced in the FLAC mail out. Identifying those now saved a lot of teeth wrenching in October!

again I can only apologise and let’s hope this matter gets resolved as soon as possible,

thanks again for your patience and understanding and support

all the best
