A wee update on the writing as Mr Vantsis cooks tea tonight (spaghetti cabonara – his own recipe! 🙂 Doing his Floyd arrangement and I mean that as Keith with a wee swallie of Savvy Blanc to assist his cooking skills!
We now have 5 titles in the songbuilding yards in various states of construction.
“The Perfume River”, “All Loved Up” (working title), “The Other Side of Me”, “The Great Unraveling” and “Blind to the Beautiful” that we started working on today.They are all very different to each other and take in a plethora of styles as you’d expect.Foss and Frank were supposed to be here tomorrow but have moved to Friday. We could do with some jamming around the themes and some new inputs to see where we can get to.
We’ve achieved a lot more than either of us expected in the space of a week and both of us have found a positive working routine where we work independently and crash our ideas into each other at various points in the working day.
We’re both finding it pretty inspiring and with a week off next week when my girlfriend arrives and a festival at Seebronn next weekend it’ll be an ideal breather before the sessions move forward again in August when I think we will have to assemble the full band to take the songs down to the river to see if they float.
We are well on track for completing the required number of songs for the album and the debut at the Leamington Spa convention in October if we can continue at this rate.
