Dear all,
Missing baggage arrived at 8pm from Edinburgh. Not opened it yet, that disappointment can wait until tomorrow:-0 Great to put on clean underwear, socks and trousers this morning with a fresh clean shirt.Heaven! 🙂
Over 2 weeks waiting on a Pro Tools/mac cable so no listening session tomorrow and maybe not until next week.Jeezo! it’s not a NASA component!
Nero 11 burner arrived so another element in place for sorting out the Fishheads project and beyond.meeting with the AVP guys about the filming on March 10 and 11.Great ideas and this could be something quite special. It’s been difficult having to keep numbers down on the “audience” and disappointing some people as it’s going to be pretty crowded in the studio as it is.Examining “dolly Tracks”, candlelit studio and cameras in the roof beams and working out placements. It could be really cool! 🙂
Idea spinning is to use this as a “stand alone” DVD release with only some sections used in the potential box set together with a bunch of “assorted ” footage.
It all depends on the performance and the finished footage.
Got my bi monthly “Resolution” magazine in the post.A studio techy publication I admit to reading less than occasionally.Opened this issue as Andy Bradfield was on the cover.A friend who I met after he married an even longer friend,Avril Mackintosh who I I’ve known for years and who engineered on “Clutching” and has done vocal production for me on “Sunsets”.I was at their wedding, a fabulous occasion at Kew gardens. I first met Avril in Inverness in 82 on the first Marillo tour when she won a radio competition to see the band and stayed great friends ever since.
Andy’s interview as a cutting edge mixer was interesting but the Fellini moment was discovering an article on download sites for independent labels which appeared at exactly the right time in the curve of decision making for this year and the Fishheads project.
Swedish festival is confirmed as being on Saturday 9th June and on stage at 3pm.
Waiting on gig in Malta to be confirmed the following weekend.
Poland on cards for this weekend but as you’d expect I’m nervous about the journey.Snow forecast for Thursday and heading to Poznan with a 2 hour drive in minus degrees is not my ideal scenario.
The film documentary needs my input now so it’s a challenge I will have to accept.
Flying Ryan Air isn’t an added bonus.
Could have done with that Pro Tools cable as I have to listen to 3 full Polish shows to choose what material makes the grade for inclusion.Looks like long days and nights in the editing suite in Z Gora!
The gig in Magdeburg was wonderful.Slightly sad in aftermath. No fireworks like Edinburgh but a great gig.. A 2 hour show delivered by tired musos , well under rehearsed but which came together beautifully and on a radiant curve of edge and professionalism, tempered by wines and fueled by an urge to deliver.
2 hours of entertainment.WE opened safe with “Special” and “state of mind”, “52”, “Punch” and “Family b”before launching.”Pilgrims” with a British/ Argentinian/Malvinas/Falklands/ Corporate oil industry address in the face of the sacrifice of serving soldiers.”Incubus” ,”Sugar Mice” , “Jigsaw” from days of yore with “Fugazi” ending the glorious night.Others lost in the haze as we were numbed by travel. Sad to say goodbye to the Fishheads set after so long! All on record!
We were all so disappointed to lose the Wusterhausen gig as it was the only one out of 180 we didn’t make!!!
Sincere apologies to those who missed out on that on especially to the people who made all the effort to attend.
It was out of our control. We tried our best but it seemed it wasn’t meant to happen. We were all gutted at losing the one show , especially me who wanted a clean sheet on my “comeback”.
Buzz is on and I start to build with all the steam generated in the last year and a half.
lots happening behind the scenes as always,
ZED call and wild dreams beckon 🙂
